When is Dress Down Day?

Where does Dress Down Day take place? 
Anywhere! Participants will publicly show their support for Philadelphia Public Schools by wearing the “Dress Down Day for Philly Public Schools” t-shirt on May 12, 2023 to work, to school, and especially online. Share photos of yourself wearing the t-shirts on social media using hashtags #DressDownPhilly#PhillyPublicSchools, and #FundPHLschools.

Why participate in Dress Down Day? 
Proceeds from “Dress Down Day for Philly Public Schools” meet the direct needs of various public schools in Philadelphia. By giving a donation and participating in “Dress Down Day for Philly Public Schools”, participants are strengthening communities, enhancing neighborhood schools, and investing in our youth.

Who organized this?
“Dress Down Day for Philly Public Schools” is organized by The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia.

Who can participate?
Everyone! Those who support Philadelphia Public Schools are highly encouraged to make a contribution and wear their t-shirt on May 12th. We would especially love to see companies in Philadelphia representing “Dress Down Day for Philly Public Schools” with multiple employees wearing t-shirts!

How do I support?
Just make a purchase to make a contribution. Each t-shirt purchase contributes $20 toward the school of the purchaser's choice.

How will I get my t-shirt?
For individual donations:
All participants who purchase by April 27th will have their t-shirt mailed to the address provided by May 12th. Any purchases made after that date cannot be guaranteed to arrive by Dress Down Day (May 12th).

For company-wide donations:
Companies are welcome to make a contribution on behalf of their employees. Contact Kathy Rubino at kathy@thefundsdp.org or call 215-979-7122. 

How can I take advantage of my company’s matching gifts? 
A company can choose to match the contributions of their employees. Employees should keep their receipts provided by the payment site and submit their receipts to their employer as directed.

Is my contribution tax deductible?
The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia is a non-profit, 501c3, which means the portion of your purchase for which you are not receiving a good or service is tax deductible.
